Leanne Balaly Occupational Therapy specializes in providing medico-legal reports to legal firms and corporate clients. In addition, where necessary, we provide court testimony as experts in respect of such reports.

Our practice takes special interest in personal injury claims, road accident fund claims, medical negligence claims, injury on duty claims, as well as functional capacity evaluations.

The compilation of the reports typically includes some or all of the following processes:

• Physical, cognitive and psycho-social assessment of claimant’s who have suffered physical and or psychological impairment.
• Evaluation of the impaired claimant’s functional capacity both before and after the injury, which includes evaluation of the ability to perform activities of daily living, home management tasks and to participate in sporting and leisure activities
• The gathering of relevant collateral information where required or indicated.
• The integration of the assessment findings and collateral evidence to provide expert occupational therapy opinion on the impact of the injury on the claimant’s functional capacity and the extent if any to which this has likely affected their vocational ability on a temporary or permanent basis.
• The provision of detailed recommendations on the optimal management and associated costs reasonably required to facilitate the return of the impaired person to work as far as possible, having regard to physical and cognitive disabilities.
