Our practice takes special interest in personal injury claims, road accident fund claims, medical negligence claims, injury on duty claims, as well as functional capacity evaluations.

Leanne Balaly (Kimmel) obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2010. Leanne has been in practice for the past 16 years and has specialised in the medico-legal industry for the past 11 years. Leanne Balaly Occupational Therapy specialises in conducting medico-legal occupational therapy assessments for legal firms across the Western Cape, as well as functional capacity evaluations for insurance and corporate companies throughout South Africa.
Leanne's passion lies in consulting with claimants who have sustained orthopaedic, neurological and spinal cord injuries, as well as claimants with musculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries and amputations. Leanne has extensive experience in the assessment of psychiatric conditions, namely depression, anxiety, bipolar mood disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and substance use disorders. Leanne also assesses paediatric claimants, including children and adolescents who have sustained a physical impairment or injury.
Leanne's private practice is based in the Equinox Building on the Atlantic Seaboard, in the heart of the Mother City, with panoramic views of Lion's Head.
The practice is fully equipped with physical and cognitive assessment tools to assess each claimant holistically and to compile comprehensive reports for all our clients.
Leanne has partnered with two highly qualified biokineticists at the practice, who can assist in optimally managing our claimants' physical conditions should the need arise.
